On 7 November 2019, AIE will host a seminar on Artificial Intelligence applications for the book sector, organised in collaboration with Aldus. The seminar, reserved to AIE members, will provide publishers with valuable insights on current challenges for the book value chain, from publishers to booksellers to readers, that can be addressed by AI-based solutions. Examples, opportunities and threats will be discussed.

The half-day seminar consists of a theoretical part, followed by there will be a more interactive session where participants will be invited to draw up a list of activities that can be innovated using AI applications.

The course will be held by Christoph Bläsi, Professor of Publishing at the Institute of Editorial Studies at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, who has been working for years first in digital publishing and then in Artificial Intelligence. The seminar will be chaired by Piero Attanasio (AIE, Director of Aldus).
