Tempo di Libri is the new Italian Book Fair whose first edition took place in Milan from 19 to 23 April 2017. Established from the encounter between 148 years of history and experience of AIE – Associazione Italiana Editori and the expertise of Fiera Milano (the world’s third biggest trade fair operator) and organised by La Fabbrica del Libro, Tempo di Libri is an immersive event, designed to suggest content that can be aggregated starting from any interest and curiosity. The first edition featured 35 thousand square metres of space, 552 exhibitors including publishing houses, magazines, associations, libraries, book shops, public bodies, start ups, 720 appointments, a guest list including about 2000 authors, with great names of contemporary international literature and the most representative Italian ones, both narrative and essay writing.
Tempo di Libri is a Trade Fair not only for books but for contents, and centred on the reader, who will be free to choose, to read all proposals offered in the programme. Opening and inclusiveness are the key words regulating all aspects of the Exhibition. Tempo di Libri is for everybody: from the book lover who buys dozens of books every year to the occasional reader; from who is still a paper fan to those in love with e-books, to those who use both. It is a Trade Fair in which publishers, literary festivals, magazines and newspapers have been invited to participate as event publishers. Tempo di Libri also offers operators the chance to explore new business opportunities, especially in the space reserved at the MIRC – Milan International Rights Center, the meeting square for Italian and foreign publishing groups, literary agents and small publishers from over 30 countries.
Aldus is the European Book Fairs’ network, offering book professionals new opportunities to develop their careers internationally, building capacities and collaboration opportunities through dedicated events, professional content resources, networking and training activities.
